General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Personal Data
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is designed to give individuals greater control over their personal data. Under this regulation, personal data refers to any information that identifies or can identify a natural person (a “Data Subject“). Identifiers may include names, contact details, identification numbers, location data, and other unique attributes. Anonymised data that cannot be traced back to an individual is not considered personal data.
The GDPR also defines special categories of personal data, which include sensitive information such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, health data, and biometric identifiers. If we ever need to process such data, we will do so in strict compliance with the GDPR and applicable security measures.
↑ Back to topYour Rights
As a data subject, you are entitled to certain rights under the Data Protection Laws:
You have the right to request access to obtain a copy of your personal data that we hold about you.
You have the right to rectify any incorrect personal data that we may hold about you.
You have the right to be forgotten and to ask us to delete your personal data where there is no legitimate reason for its continued processing. Note that specific legal reasons may prevent complete erasure.
You have the right to request restriction of processing under certain conditions, such as if you dispute the accuracy of your data or object to the lawfulness of processing.
You have the right to receive your personal data in a machine-readable format and, where technically feasible, to have it transmitted directly to another service provider. This applies only to data processed on the basis of consent or a contract.
You have the right to object to processing where we rely on legitimate interests. We may continue processing only if we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your rights.
If you have provided consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.
You have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing. Please note: we do not engage in any automated decision-making or profiling processes.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us as detailed in Section 20. We will respond to all legitimate requests within one (1) month. Additional information to verify your identity may be requested. You will not incur fees unless your request is manifestly unfounded, repetitive, or excessive. None of the rights above are absolute and may be subject to limitations based on our legal obligations.
↑ Back to topWhat Data We Process
This website serves as a business directory showcasing Malta-based companies that are engaged in or seeking to export goods and/or services. While legal entities such as limited liability companies do not fall under the scope of personal data protection, information about their representatives (such as directors or authorised persons) may be considered personal data.
In cases where individuals are identifiable, we treat their information in accordance with Data Protection Laws, ensuring all applicable rights and protections. Processing activities include the collection, storage, use, and disclosure of such data as necessary to operate our services.
As part of the business directory, certain personal data of company representatives, such as names and contact details, may be publicly visible online. This is done to facilitate business connections and provide international exposure, in line with the purpose of our services. If you have concerns about the publication of your data, you may contact us as outlined in Section 20.
By registering a company profile, businesses provide their explicit consent for their data to be processed and displayed publicly.
